Clear to go at the Hockenheimring

Dear exhibitors,

Dear visitors,

Welcome to the spring VETERAMA at the Hockenheimring.

On this weekend, where normally powerful racing cars train or compete for trophies, automotive history on two and four wheels made its appearance.

The scene of mechanics, hobbyists and collectors meets just in time for the “spring awakening” before the season of classic car rallies and leisurely rides begins.

At the moment, there are also clear signs that our hobby is returning to the “real classic car scene”.

The “car invest faction” has obviously realized that a gold bar in a safe is a better investment than investing in a classic car where you can’t even be sure whether the stamped chassis number actually comes from the manufacturer.

But other models, which are actually quite staid, have also taken part in this price gallop without inhibitions.

Take the Mercedes Benz W 113 (Pagoda), for example, of which 48,912 units were built with the 230/250 and 280 engine variants.

Offering such a vehicle for up to €300,000 was simply audacious. Now you can definitely find good vehicles under €100,000 again.

I actually praise the bread and butter cars of the 1930s. A DKW F6, F7, F8, an Opel P 4, a BMW Dixi, an Adler Trumpf Junior or a Hanomag have actually remained in the scene and there are also vehicles in the youngtimer scene that beginners can afford.

Because for all these screwdrivers and hobbyists, our beautiful hobby consists of two parts.

Part one, resurrecting an old or youngtimer that has been parked sometime and somewhere…. can take years.

And then one day comes part two, and that is the first trip with the self-restored classic car.

When a few people stand at the side of the road and wave happily, it’s the best reward for the many hours of work that have gone into saving a piece of mobile cultural heritage. Without any financial ulterior motive…

VETERAMA emerged from this scene and there are still two VETERAMAs a year for this scene.

We hope that you will once again find many items that you have written down on your wish list this year. And maybe you’ll even find a few things that you weren’t actually looking for…

Our dealers in the boxes and on the open-air site would certainly be pleased.

Well then, happy searching and finding
